You never write, you never call…

Instead of another Millennials/cell phones rant, thought I’d make a quick post about some projects I’m currently working on:
- Firefox stuff for the HSL
I added several UB-related search plug-ins for Firefox a few weeks back. Then, last week in an orientation for new dental students, I find out that they are all using Firefox, apparently at the suggestion of the Dental School. Today, I started work on developing a LibX toolbar for UBHSL, and began mapping out the Firefox workshop Michelle and I will be offering this Fall. - Book chapter and journal
I was recently approached to write a chapter on information literacy instruction for a revised medical librarianship textbook. Meanwhile, a colleague and I are about to start up a journal on information literacy in higher education, so if you are prepping any IL articles, please let me know. You never know; you might be in our inaugural issue this spring. - Federated search tool
Marcy Daumen is a lady who works in our basement. She’s also the amazingly talented informationist behind CIRRIE, an international database of literature in rehabilitation. Recently, she and I were talking and came up with a brainstorm idea of creating a federated search interface for CIRRIE and Rehabdata, their U.S.-focused counterpart. We’re just getting started, but dbWiz looks like our most likely candidate, if we can find appropriate server space for it. Wish us luck! - Millennials talk
At SUNY Orange in a little over a week. Yeah, I knew I couldn’t get through a whole post without at least one mention of the Mils.
