Nothing here that we haven’t heard before, really, but illuminating to hear it from someone so prominent, and about a school as dominant as Harvard.

  1. This is a timely topic. Today my Northwestern alumni magazine arrived, with a cover story about “Millennial” students. Good, bad, or both, the “always-on” generation has profoundly different expectations of libraries than their elders.

  2. Seems like there’s coverage of the Millennials everywhere right now, either as the “Always-On Generation”, the “Net Generation,” or the “Entitlement Generation.” Labels aren’t always helpful, but I do think that these kids have a number of traits, good and bad, that will impact higher ed user services for some time to come, including libraries.
