After Subpoenas, Internet Searches Give Some Pause - New York Times

I’m marking this article for now and will comment in more detail shortly, but my initial question is this: Can libraries market themselves more effectively to a population of users by asserting their legal right to privacy and ensuring that library-selected resources are not tracking their personal information?

(PS - Sorry to have been away from the blog for the last couple of months, but my wife gave birth to a wonderful baby boy and that’s taken all of our time. Christopher was born with congenital hyperinsulinism and required surgery and lots of follow up. After eight exhausting weeks we finally have him at home but he still requires more care than your average newborn, so we’re still quite busy. I’ll be catching up in the next few weeks, though, and hope to post more about this article in a day or two.)
