Looking for EndNote 7

December 13th, 2004 Stewart

I would never have guessed, but it looks like all the standard sources for educational software have sold out of EndNote 7 for Windows. You can still find Mac versions of the software, but otherwise users are being forced to buy EndNote 8.0.1, complete with all the bugs.

This really stinks for the new EndNote user who wants to buy a stable, usable copy of the software and get started immediately. EndNote 7 is, according to EndNote’s own update page, the only version of the software that never required a patch or update. This practice of Thompson Researchsoft to produce new versions of EndNote every year, whether they are needed or not, simply has to come to an end.

For anyone out there looking for EndNote 7 for Windows, my best recommendation is to keep an eye on eBay. And good luck!
