Workshops, publications, etc.

A few brief notes for those of you who keep up with this stuff:
- I’m now getting requests for January workshop dates. I’m also working on the Spring semester schedule for the UB Health Sciences Library workshop series. And April and May 2005 are conference months. In other words, my availability for outside workshops and consultations is filling fast.
- I have been getting requests for more ‘one on one’ and in-office training lately. If this is something that would work for you or your group, let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs.
- My best regards to Haiping Qiao who defended her Masters thesis on Monday, a systematic review of the literature on antibiotic-associated diarrhea and probiotics.
- I’m about to begin work on another (hopefully briefer) analysis of academic HSL web sites, this time looking at labeling of links to library resources. I really hope to turn this one around much quicker than the last one.
- Kudos to Walee Chotikavanic, Shari Clifton, Joy Summers-Ables, and Marty Thompson, my old colleagues from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Library on their Distinguished Level membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals. Congrats to you all!!!
Also, no word yet on the second EndNote 8 patch. I am still recommending against purchasing EndNote 8. When the next patch is released, I’m hoping to revise this recommendation, though with only six months now until version 9 is (presumably) being released, I’m not sure it would be worth buying at all.
